What is Your Secret Sauce? What is the A-ha! insight or epiphany you offer your audience – or the unique way you approach (or solve) a painful problem that your community craves? (or WOULD crave, if they knew your solution existed)
Here are 3 simple exercises we did a few days ago as a small group, which can be incredibly effective for helping community leaders, brand builders, and mission oriented marketers get super clear on our message.
1. Craft your Unique Selling Proposition using this formula: [Our Product] for [target audience] to solve [problem] with [secret sauce].
Are you building a community? Launching a platform? Many of my own clients, readers and subscribers have gotten amazing results simply filtering through their BIG idea through the process map above.
2. The 4 T’s: Title, Type, Target and Transformation.
(the name of your business, book, product or program, the type of business, book, product or program, your target audience, and the transformation your readers/clients or audience gets by working with you)
2a. Unlike other…….(unlike other products, programs, sites or services, WE do/offer “this”) This is the DIFFERENTIATION piece of the puzzle – what you offer that is different than all of the other folks who swim in the shallow sea of sameness.
3. Lastly, do this MAD LIB: “People in my industry are terrible at X, but if they only knew Y like me, they’d have all the Z they need to succeed.” This can be super clarifying for identifying EXACTLY what it is that you do best – where your shine – where your gifts lie – and how you can get super clear on the pains you pop – the hurts you heal – and the benefits you’ll bring – when you step up and show up in the service of what you love.
