There is something very freeing about embracing the reality of how things are.
And the understanding that regardless of how things are right now, they will in fact, change soon enough.
This is a very liberating lesson we all learn from the practice of paying close attention to our lives.
This is the truth of all experience.
It’s always changing. Nothing ever stays the same. And you always get the chance to begin again.
This can be profoundly liberating when it comes to the frustrations of being an entrepreneur.
As innovators, artists, makers, marketers, creatives, community leaders, teachers or brand builders, we always want things to be a certain way.
And we want that thing to be happening now.
We want more customers, faster feedback, more profits, more praise, more attention, affection and appreciation from the world, for our inspired ideas and our entrepreneurial ambition.
This is where having a mindfulness alarm – the ability to re-connect with the reality of what’s really happening in your life, is like a super power.
“Right now, it’s like this”.
It’s not always going to be like this. And the right now that may spring up in the next moment – or the next hour – or the next a-ha epiphany that wakes and shakes you out of your entrepreneurial boots – may be like something else entirely.
That’s the magic. Of your life. And your life’s work.
So pick something you love.
Because right now – and now again – is all we ever really got – and we never know how many more, are in store.
Use them well.
